Transport to Fixtures – Direct Meets at Venue

We will not be routinely providing transport to/from local weekend fixtures which are less than an approx. 30 minute journey from the College. Instead, students will be asked to meet directly at the away venue.

We often travel to our local fixtures with half empty coaches, as parents wish to watch, and travel back with even fewer students. On several occasions we have had a 53-seater coach travel back to the College with only the teachers on board. Given the current economic climate, we have decided to try this new method of meeting direct. For fixtures beyond 20 miles/approximately 30 minutes driving from school, we will continue to provide coach transport as normal.

We trialled this last year and will be continuing in 2024-25. Feedback is welcomed and should be directed to Mrs Catling, Sports Department Co-ordinator (vcatling@stgeorgesweybridge.com).

The table below shows the fixtures for the next term where we will be asking for students to meet direct. These are subject to change but should allow you to start planning now.

All other fixtures within the term will have transport provided to/from the College.
